Four hours later we arrived in Valencia and took a cab to our destination. I thought we'd be staying in a hostel, but it was actually an apartment that they rent out to people either to live, or for just a few days like we had. I'm not complaining at all; we had a full kitchen, living room and two bathrooms (one was just a toilet) as well as a room for the three of us to share.
We were starving so the first thing we did after unloading all of our stuff was try and find something to eat. It was surprisingly difficult, but we found a place that offered tapas. Sarah and I got our patatas bravas and Shannon got 'orejas de cerdo'. After she ordered Sarah turned to her and said, "Isn't that pig ear?" Yes, indeed it was. I never laughed so hard watching someone eat something! At first Shannon's comments were 'It tastes like ham' and 'It's different'. Finally so looked at us and simply said, 'I feel sick'. So Sarah wrapped up some of the ears and threw them away outside.
After that ordeal we headed to the beach, walked around the harbor and walked to the science and arts center. Instead of going out to eat for dinner again we decided to get food at one of the shops right outside our apartment. So we settled on some fruit, pasta and chicken nuggets.
Much different then your previous meal! All I can think of is how much Chessa would have loved the pig ear that was thrown away....hehe...I really love the story!...you girls are just too cute! Love you lots...counting down the days,,,love you Momma
