April 28th - April 29th: Day Eighty Six

I really enjoyed Segovia today. It was a really pretty city. I'm hoping to get pictures up tomorrow but we'll have to wait and see. The first thing we did was take a walking tour around the city (it's pretty small). Then we took a tour of the castle, followed by lunch. Segovia is, I think, known for its 'suckling pig'. Basically it's a baby pig (no more than 3 weeks old) that's cooked whole and served to you. It was really, really good. Real tender and a slight pork flavor! After lunch we had free time for a little over an hour. Sarah, Shannon and I walked around the cathedral and went to a few gift shops before meeting back up with the group.

I relaxed a little right when I got home, then we had dinner. Blanca attempted to make me patatas bravas! God bless her! I really got so lucky with her! Sunday is Mother's day here so me and the two girls I live with are going to go out and buy her something. I recommended flowers but if the shop isn't open we'll have to figure something else out. Either way I think she'll be just over-joyed that we thought of her!

XOXO,
Carol

  1. I am glad you had fun however I really feel sorry for that little pig...not sure if I could get past the part of it being a baby? I am so glad that you got to live with Blanca! I am glad you are attached to her! I think she will be overjoyed that you find her special enough to get her a mothers day gift...you are so very thoughtful...thats my girl! Love you baby! Momma
