Having no classes on Friday is definitely a plus. I hope I can make a schedule like this next year at school. Doubt it, but it would be really enjoyable. I got to sleep in a little longer than usual, which was nice. The only thing I really had to do was go to a brunch with the CEA staff. That was actually optional, but it was nice to go. I talked mostly with the other girls in the program and listened to stories about their home, trips they've already taken and other stuff.
After that I came back to the casa and relaxed until Gio came back from class. Once he was back we gathered our things and headed to the part to take pictures. I wish there was a park like this one closer to home. It's so pretty and I can't wait until there are flowers and the leaves start to form on the trees. The park will be even prettier then! We only really walked through half of the park since the sun was going down. We are saving the other half for sometime next week. Which will be nice; I'll have something to do. Tomorrow we are headed to Sol to get pictures before it gets too crowded. I'm excited!
Before I post some of the pictures from today I need to give my momma a little shout out and answer some of the questions. =)
Mom, there should be no problem with my credits transferring. I still need credit for Spanish 1-3 at Bloom, so these classes should cover that. I'm going to have to take more Spanish classes than I normally would have, but I already knew I'd be in school longer because of the double major. Everyone here is taking advantage of the cheap Europe prices. It's cheaper to fly from country to country than it is to fly from state to state (which still blows my mind)! I want to get used to things a little more before I worry about traveling. I have plenty of time... just no money, haha! Paris is actually on the top of my list! I couldn't see anything when I landed or took off from there; it was too cloudy! And I doubt my host family is doing anything with me during Easter. She lives alone and there are five of us here... that's too many people for her to take somewhere. I'm definitely going to travel then, I just don't know when.... Oh, and the temperatures here are about 10-20 degrees war
mer than back home. Which is something I LOVE! I was getting sick of always being cold.
And now... Pictures! =)
I can't wait to see this part of the park during spring. There were places for fountains so I can only imagine how beautiful it gets.
This is the "Crystal Palace". It's a botanical garden in the Parque de Retiro.
Close-up of the Palace.
I have more pictures, but they take forever to upload so they are going to have to wait until I come home.
Good night everyone!
XOXO,
Carol
These pictures are beautiful! I agree with you...spring should be even more beautiful with all the new growth and colors! That palace is awesome! I am glad you are enjoying yourself! About Paris...you MUST make plans to go...I will make sure there is money in your account...all I have to do is stop going out to eat at lunch for a few days a week and you will have your money...(LOL)...Honey, you may be my only child to ever have this opportunity and I really doubt that I will get there, so the next best thing is to live it through you, so PLEASE make plans to do it...all I ask for in return is lots of pictures and stories...oh yeah and my castanets...don't forget I want castanets! See, if I want to dance around playing with my castanets, I will need to lose a few pounds (so I MUST cut back on my lunches anyway! LOL!)!!!! I think you should get a pair too...we can dance around with my bedroom curtins, clicking our castanets...(yes Diana you can come play too).
ReplyDeleteI did log on to check what the weather was today in Madrid. Next week it is supposed to be fairly warm here too. You know me...I really would like to have some more snow yet before spring comes. Well, I will see you tomorrow. I can't wait...it feels like Christmas...I am sooooo excited to see you! Lots of love, hugs and kisses...Momma
