I'm feeling a LOT better today than I did yesterday. The only thing that was wrong with me today was a cough, a sore throat because of the cough and lack of voice. Beyond that I was just fine. Blanca was still slightly worried and ended up checking up on me at least eight times today. If there was any doubt in my mind that the woman didn't care for me it's completely erased now. I truly am lucky to have her as a host mom! I'm definitely going to get her a gift either before I leave, or send her something once I get home!
School starts up again tomorrow and I should be perfectly fine going. And I don't think it's necessary to go to the doctor either. Rest and cough medicine seemed to do the trick and unless I have a relapse I should be back to my usual self by Wednesday (voice included)!
This week is pretty open for me too. Friday we have a 'trip' to the Prado Museum. Even though I was already there I plan on going back. They are going to point out 'important' pieces before letting us head off on our own. It'll be nice to learn a little more about the paintings. And maybe I can actually get some photos! I might try and attempt the movies again this weekend and I think next weekend sounds like a good time to start taking other trips! We'll have to wait and see.
Right now though, it's bedtime!
Good night!
XOXO,
Carol
I know I feel better and am glad you are on the way back to your old self! I am your mom and worry a lot about you! I am hoping you get to your movie next weekend because hanging out and making friends helps! I went online and looked up the 'Valley of the Fallen' (Valle de los Caidos). I have been interested ever since you posted those pictures. You are correct the Holy Cross of the Valley of the Fallen is the largest in the world. It is 492 feet high including the base and its arms have a width of 154 feet from fingertip to fingertip. On the base of the cross there are four colossal sculptures depicting the four Evangelists...Saint Luke with a bull, Saint John with an eagle, Saint Mark with a lion and Saint Matthew with a man. I can't imagine the beauty...I really wish I could see it some day! Papa would have loved being there with you to see such a sight...(maybe he was)! Keep taking pictures and sharing all the history you are learning...it is really cool. Good night for now and just remember Momma loves you!
