Anyway, as soon as we got to the school we took our placement tests. At first the test looked easy, but as I move on to the next section it started to get a little harder. My main problem was that I understood about 75% of the words, but the 25% that I didn't know where necessary to answer the question or complete the sentence. So, needless to say I didn't do so well. Especially since I was tired, my emotions/nerves were on a roller coaster, and I simply didn't care.
They put me in the beginner level for the University. At this moment I think that's wrong; I should be higher up in levels than this. But, maybe it's a good thing. I've been out of practice for so long that this might be the jump start I need towards becoming fluent. Plus, if the classes are too easy I can see if they'll bump me up or something. Sometimes I choke on tests, so it could have happened today. Either way, I'll be learning Spanish so I'm okay. The down side; the classes might not transfer into something that I need for a Spanish major at Bloomsburg.
After the university, CEA had a tour of Madrid for us if we decided to go. I was debating going all morning since I was so tired, but now I'm glad I went. I learned where the Prado Museum of Art is (which is on the top of my list of things to see) and we toured the very center of Madrid (and Spain). We also saw the royal palace of Spain, a lot of pretty buildings (that I can't remember what they were exactly) and a lot of pretty statues. Unfortunately I forgot my camera. I took it out before leaving for the university; I didn't think I'd need it. Turns out that I could have used it. I'll have pictures soon, though. I want to go back, hopefully this weekend, so I can get pictures and take my time walking though the center of the country. I also want to walk through the park right by my homestay. We did today on our way to the CEA tour, but weren't able to really enjoy the beauty of the park; we were in a hurry.
Well, it's getting late, and my classes start tomorrow!
Until then!
XOXO,
Carol
That would totally stink if the credits didn't count!! Everything happens for a reason and I think you will be set no matter what. Keep having fun and stay safe!! Love you.
ReplyDeleteI knew we were meant to be roommates and life long friends when we both found out we suck at tests. Lol. I have one tomorrow. Uck! I hope everything works out, and hopefully they can see that you weren't meant to be in a class and can move you up. I'm glad everything went good with the metro this morning.
ReplyDelete<3 you more than him! haha just kidding!
HIIII
ReplyDeleteHi Honey. Don't worry about the placement test. I agree with Ian, things happen for a reason and will all work out for the best. Hopefully everything you do there will count towards your credits! I am proud of you no matter what happens! I hope you know that it isn't just your family that is proud of you either. I must tell you that I was really glad I went to Ian's last night..(even though mostly everybody was cheering for GreenBay...except Cody and me). I had a great time and I must tell you that Beth reads your blog everyday (Ian set it up as a favorite for her). Howard also told me that he is so proud of you and how great this is for you...it was great being with them and feeling the love they have for you. Today Jess told me Nora loves it too. I have Amy and Trudy logging on to check it out and they are enjoying it too. I hope you get back out and about for some pictures...there is so much I want to see! Well it's getting late so I am heading off to bed...I will text you in the morning...have sweet dreams and I love you!
